Helping My Grandma Hear

My Grandma is one of my best friends, and there is nothing that I wouldn’t do for her. When she was telling me that she was loosing her hearing, I first thought that it was just a part of getting old. After convincing her however, I was able to get her to go to the doctor to get this checked out. What the doctor found was a massive build up of wax that was causing this hearing loss. This was a very incredible discovery. The doctor referred us to an ENT doctor and we were able to go through with an ear wax removal Stockport procedure. This procedure made it so that my grandma could finally hear again. This was a blessing to everyone in our family. There was so much joy when my grandma could finally hear again at family gatherings. This is something that has been difficult for her for nearly months now, and now it is vey easy for her to hear again.

Rainbows, clouds and furry critters

Janelle stood in her unborn babies nursery. As she rubbed her belly, that was bursting with the life of her baby girl, she dreamed of this room that would be filled with adorable baby things. Janelle had painted the walls a sunny yellow. Rainbows, clouds and teeny, furry critters dance across her little girl’s room. Janelle was always a very talented artist, who had worked hard to be able to make a career out of what she loved. This was not the first wall mural that she had made, but it was the only one for her very, own daughter. With pink, Manchester blinds on a large, bay window this room was progressing along at a speedy pace. With only three more weeks until the projected due date of her bundle of joy, Janelle was excited to welcome her new baby to this world.

Baking Bread Bricks

One day I was in the mood for fresh bread I proceeded to gather all the ingredients together to begin making my dough. Sitting on the counter was a bucket that I assumed was my flour. I could not wait to smell the heavenly smell of bread baking. I took it out and noticed it felt heavier than it ever had before. I set it on the counter and it made a noticeable thunk. When I took it out of the pan to cut it I felt the weight of it and showed my husband. He asked “What did you do to it?” I said, “Nothing I put in the flour.” and I pointed to the bucket. He started to laugh uncontrollably. I thought he had lost his mind. He said to me. “Honey that’s not flour.” I asked him what it was and he told me it was silica flour. He used it to mix his plaster. Great I just made bread bricks.

Light Me Up For the Last Time

We stood in the middle of the field with matches in one hand and the empty containers from one of the county’s fireworks displays in the other. My grandfather stood, with tear filled eyes, thinking about my grandmother and what she meant to him.

“She was the light of my world, Leo.” he said.

“I know Pop, I know.” I had no other words to console him. It had been two months since she passed and it was still eating him alive. I didn’t know how much longer he would last like this; I was afraid he would be next to go.

I walked out to where we filled the fireworks with my grandmother’s ashes and began lighting the wicks. There was just enough time to get back to my grandfather’s side; almost on cue, the tears started to flow.

With thunderous cracks and illuminating colors, the night sky lit up as far as the eye could see.

“She gets to light up my world one more time.”

How A Busy Mom Stays Sane

I have been married for 10 years. My husband and I have two wonderful sons. I also work full-time as a teacher. Being married with children and working full-time does take its toll sometimes. However, I have found ways to keep myself sane. Even though I am very busy,

I occasionally get a day to myself. I may spend the day shopping or hanging out with friends. I may also spend the day getting pampered. I often spend the day at the spa getting a Manchester thai massage, my hair done or my nails done.

In addition to having me days, I also take the time to relax each day. I only get about an hour to myself every day, and I take full advantage of it. I spend my alone time exercising, reading a book or watching one of my favorite television shows.

An Eco-Friendly Face Lift

Abrasive blasting is a cleaning method in which a mixture of abrasive materials is sprayed at high pressure against a surface, such as the side of a building, to smooth out, roughen, or clean. There are a number of commonly used materials, including sand, steel grit, aluminum oxide, and glass beads. Due to the nature of blasting, there are strong EPA regulations in place addressing concerns about the environmental impact of such methods. For the environmental-conscious, the best abrasive to use is recycled glass media. The 100% recycled glass works as an effective abrasive agent, but is non-hazardous, non-toxic, and totally inert. Using recycled glass eliminates the risk of airborne carcinogens, is safe around water supplies, and contains almost none of the OSHA-identified heavy metals found in some of the other common abrasives. Eco-friendly and cost effective, recycled glass is a highly effective and responsible choice for abrasive blasting needs.

The Winged Mouse

Jared was a strong, lanky mouse looking for something grander than the walls of Mrs. Markeley’s basement as a home. He wanted to sail somewhere, but not on water, in the sky. The sky above him seemed so beautiful, and it made his heart sing. He figured that there was really only one way to realize his dreams. He would sing, and he would sing everything.

He his smile broke through the rests, and the cadence carried his body in swaying, inspired serenity. The songs were tales of places so high and far away. Eventually Jared earned enough money for his wings, and he flew off into the sky. His life was bad an totally sad, and we wanted to come back to Earth.

He grabbed some silica sand, which was kept in bags in the angels’ homes, and threw it on the ground. He had never been told what it would do, but he knew it could change his life. He tossed it down, slowly frowned, and fell right through the ground.

Down he plunged with fear in his heart. He fell from the heavens, and he crashed on the ground. One rib was broken, but the sand crept inside of him and repaired the wound. In sorrow, he moped away, but the sand would be repair him, in spirit and in body, and make his life ideal.
