Program Description - Why You Should Attend

Small businesses account for 97 percent of all exporters in the United States. That’s almost 280,000 small businesses exporting almost $500 billion! This conference and trade show may provide you with the opportunity and contacts to join those ranks, and, best of all, inexpensively.

The President’s National Export Initiative calls for doubling U.S. exports within 5 years. This second Export Matchmaker, following the first Matchmaker in New Jersey last year, is being conducted as part of that effort.

Trade intermediaries, including Export Management Companies (EMCs), Export Trading Companies (ETCs), foreign agents, brokers, and distributors can act as a manufacturer’s, or distributor’s export department, taking over most of the technical export responsibility for a fee, or purchasing goods outright for export to markets abroad. EMCs and ETCs provide a variety of tailored services, including locating export markets, overseas representation, shipping distribution, international correspondence, quotations, financing, advertisement, and shipping documentation.

Small business manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers are encouraged to bring an ample supply of brochures, catalogs, business cards, and even distributorship agreements. Workshops, which will run concurrently with the trade show, will include education on what to look for in selecting a trade intermediary.

Exhibitor/EMC/ETC/Facilitator/Trade Intermediary Registration Fee: $125
Fee includes participation for two representatives at all sessions, conference materials, a 6’ x 30” draped table with two seats in the exhibit area, wireless Internet, a one-page profile in the Conference Directory, breakfast, luncheon, and reception.

Small Business Manufacturers, Distributors, and Suppliers Registration Fee: $45
Fee includes admission to all sessions and exhibit area, conference materials, breakfast, luncheon, and reception.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received by September 6, 2011 in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations received after that date will not be entitled to a refund.

Conference Directory: To guarantee your inclusion in the Conference Directory, registration must be received by September 6, 2011.
